The Opportunity

Each year, approximately 3.2 million cats enter shelters, and about 860,000 of them are euthanized.* Although the numbers of animals entering shelters has decreased somewhat since 2011, there is still much work to be done to reduce the numbers even more. Although rescue organizations and no-kill shelters may seem like a solution, the reality is as long as cats can reproduce, there will always be an overpopulation problem.

The Feline Fix by Five Months campaign exists to promote awareness of the benefits of spaying and neutering cats at any early age - before five months - and the impact this approach can have on the health and well-being of cats, and the pet overpopulation problem.
